Mere sloganeering will not make our country great

Our media is in habit of showing and discussing the speeches of politicians. Browse any news channel and you will find news channel showing what Politicians said. Just try to recall any of the speech and you will realize that Politician spoke just about future plans as well as what is needed to be done but nobody talks about the task in hand and accomplishments.
9 out of 10 time media informs us what is in pipeline i.e future dream.  “Plan” doesn’t change our life, its “actual” which changes our life”.
Most unfortunate thing is that maximum TRP is recorded for controversy and allegations. How indifferences and controversies of Politian is going to help our country to fight with numerous challenges?News channels have changed into entertainment channel because people don't care for actual news.
Mere sloganeering will not make our country great. Execution is key of success.
Attention to the execution will bring desired changes. We have no dearth of schemes, policies and ideas but these things doesn't changes in due to absence of proper executions.

It would be great service to the nation if media focuses more on informing about jobs done by Politicians rather than broadcasting their hollow promises.
Let's raise the question on non fulfilled promises made by Politicians so that in future they must think thrice before doing hollow promises.
Appraisal of politicians must be based on improvements done by him but not on his speech.

Missing of Bigger picture is good or bad?

“One gram of action is better than tons of talking”.

I read this quote recently and saluted the person who wrote this beautiful line.

In our life, we spend majority of time and energy in suggesting others how to improve and do better. We enjoy and feel patriotic in giving zillion suggestions to Modi and Dhoni that too while sipping tea at corner shop of neighborhood. The best part is that we become petitioner, advocate as well judge. Usual conclusion is “system is bad”.

There is nothing wrong in fault finding and giving suggestions but it is futile if the recipient is not present in front of you. No doubt that we feel frustrated and suffocated when things don’t go the way we expect.

Unfortunately our country is facing much more challenges than any other part of the world. Cribbing, cursing and feeling dejected are not going to change anything. Yes, those will draw attention but mere drawing attention is not going to bring solution.

Yesterday during the lunch in office canteen, my colleague showed concern about Brexit and also gave his opinion that Union and State Govt elections should be carried out together. When he asked my opinion, I simply said what’s point in discussing something which is not in our hand.

He said, “Manoj, the problem is that you don’t see bigger picture”.

I responded nonchalantly, “its pixels those join together in millions while making bigger HD picture. Unless we join the pixels by our little efforts, it is always difficult to get the bigger picture. It is imperative that if everybody does his bit then there is no reason why we can’t excel in every walk of life.

Like every responsible and patriotic citizen I also expect our top leaders to deliver on numerous issues. In the weekend I did a small experiment, I went to municipality office and offered my voluntarily service of training clerical staff about how to use advance excel tools. I guaranteed that efficiency of staff will go up drastically. It took only half an hour to teach them how to use VLOOKUP and how to apply Pivot table. It was nothing less than miracle for them to know that what it used to take hours can be done in minutes. They were very happy and I was also happy to contribute in their efficiency improvement. I also offered Municipal commissioner my expertise of call center set-up to record public grievances (again on purely voluntarily basis). He was visibly happy to take my help.

While coming from Municipality office I saw few kids playing cricket in a small ground. I stopped for a while and enjoyed watching their game. They were of the age of approx. 10-12 years. One boy in red shirt was batting well but was struggling to play over pitched balls. I realized that he had kept his both hands very close on the handle of bat. I went to him and suggested to make gap between both hands so that he can have flexibility as well as control while playing.

One day that boy suddenly met me in the market and thanked me for my suggestion which helped him a lot to negotiate good length deliveries. I felt happy that my little effort has brought some result.

“We may not be able to change the world but certainly we can change somebody’s world”.

I have pledged that weekly at least one good thing (however insignificant it may be) I will do which will help my country to move one baby step ahead.

Are you willing to do the same or you want to focus on bigger picture?

Choice is up to you!!
